At the start of the trail to the castle, there were several informational signs, including this one. At first we did not pay any attention to it; the photo was taken on the way back. The sign says that the castle is closed and there is a risk of collapse.

The castle was indeed closed, so we had to climb over the gate. We were very pleased with the walk around the deserted castle. It’s clear that some restoration work has been started. Why everything was put on hold is not entirely clear, because it was also obvious that no work has been carried out in the castle for a long time. For some reason, they’ve put gates like these all over the castle grounds... But the little tower is cool.

The height of the square tower is 19 meters. It was built back in the 11th century.

The fort was abandoned in 1661, and the garrison was transferred to Bard Fort.
