Abandoned Beelitz-Heilstätten Sanatorium

Abandoned · 5/25/2010 · Original language: Russian

Built in 1898 as a sanatorium for tuberculosis patients. In October 1916, Hitler was treated here.
As a result of World War II, after the division of Germany, this land became part of the Soviet Union. The Soviet authorities turned it into a military sanatorium.
After the reunification of Germany, there were attempts to privatize this sanatorium, but the matter was never brought to completion. However, one restored building was noticed, maybe things have finally started moving....

It is very beautiful here, very. The sanatorium blended into nature so harmoniously that it seems like an inseparable part of it.

This was our first serious attempt to visit an abandoned site. We were a little scared. After all, we had never been to places like this before. But here it turned out to be very quiet and peaceful. While we were wandering around and staring at the buildings, two groups of serious photographers with tripods and huge cameras passed by. Unfortunately, out of our own stupidity, we didn’t follow them, which we later regretted very much. We never managed to find a “human” entrance to the sanatorium. We had to climb in through a window....
