Snow and fog....
At an altitude of 1,908 meters, on the border with Switzerland, there is the town of Montespluga. We ended up there, one might say, by chance, looking for a place to stay for the night. After climbing almost two thousand meters in altitude by car, we saw...

Snow and fog....

It was very cold compared to “down below,” where we had been walking around in just T-shirts; here we had to put on all our clothes.

The houses standing alone here were barely visible through the fog.

The town’s central square was deserted.

We went for a walk along the road that leads to the border. We saw a barrier.

In the morning, the situation changed dramatically. Thanks to the sun. By the way, we spent the night here too. Right at the parking area. Two caravans spent the night next to us. The place for an overnight stay, especially in a caravan, is excellent and free.

In the morning we went for a walk up the nearest mountain, choosing the one with less snow, since we didn’t have proper boots. View of Montespluga from the mountain.

And this little lake is, of course, frozen.

So much snow. The little boots have thin soles and are completely soaked. But it was warm in the morning.

And here is the peak we planned to climb. In the photo, it doesn’t seem so “threatening.” In reality, you have to try very, very hard to scramble up it. The slopes are very steep.
