Italy 2011: Pisa-Rimini-San Marino-Lake Garda-Dolomites
May 4 – May 15
Zavr and Zavra’s first trip in the new car - a Renault Logan.
The journey lasted 11 days. We drove about 2,500 km in total.
We filled up with diesel. Diesel consumption was a little higher than we would have liked, just over 5 liters per 100 km.
Overall, the car did not disappoint. Sleeping in it is much more comfortable than in the old Renault. The Logan is longer and higher.
All in all, we spent 380 euros, of which 152 euros went on diesel!
We slept in campsites, once again buying an ACSI card in advance on the website www.campingcard.co.uk, just like last year.
With it, campsites cost 15 euros per night.
Sometimes we looked for spots in the forest, which allowed us to save a little on accommodation.
Over 11 days, we spent 71 euros on overnight stays. At the same time, we spent only one night in a hotel, in Rimini. And even that was thanks to the fact that we managed to book a room on booking.com for just 26 euros.
We were very lucky with the weather, not a single rainy day! Only on the last night did we sleep to the soothing sound of raindrops tapping on the car roof.
Coming home in the rain was not so sad.
Italy seemed poorer than France. The roads in many villages are broken, the houses shabby. There are a great many abandoned, derelict buildings.
