Itinerary

We spent the entire month of June in Kyiv. It’s even harder to write about this than usual, because… Because so much happened, but there are no words to describe it all.

For 12 days we lived in a little house in Vorzel; it was so lovely there. With a dog and pine trees. I spent a lot of time alone because Volchiy went to work in the office. I felt good being alone there, doing morning exercises in the fresh air, going to the store for groceries during the day, working in the gazebo, and in the evening waiting for Volchiy to come home from work.

And then we lived for 2 weeks in the center of Kyiv, and that was lovely too; we had a big apartment and a balcony overlooking St. Sophia’s Cathedral.

We met with family, close friends, and loved ones. We went to the Kyiv Sea, ate shashlik, went to cafés and restaurants. We almost walked all the way from Maidan to the Park of Eternal Glory. We went to the supermarket in the middle of the night (you can’t do that here in Germany :), and for the first time rode an electric scooter. We sold our beloved little Logan, which had served us faithfully and well.

The days flew by one after another, swish swish swish… Every day was so full of emotions that sometimes it seemed to me I wasn’t able to digest it all, absorb it, live through it. And then we stayed at home, drank the most delicious Azerbaijani dry red wine (thank you, parents!) on the balcony in solitude. The evenings were so pleasant, warm. I constantly felt like I was missing something, not getting to see someone enough, not having enough time to do or say something important….

Kyiv Food Market on Arsenalna. The place itself is quite specific, but the sushi is probably the tastiest I’ve ever had. The beer is also very good! :)
