Mirador del Balcon - below us, the abyss and the ocean
Mirador del Balcon - Telde
Gran Canaria 2022
In the morning we continue on, completing the loop around Gran Canaria. Volchiy decided to take the narrow road along the ocean instead of the highway. That’s how we accidentally found a popular spot - Mirador del Balcon - a glass balcony practically over the abyss. A very beautiful place, but very windy. You can’t stand there for long.

We wanted to continue along this narrow road, thinking we would return to the highway on it. But the road sign “Dead End” confused us. We drove a little farther and stopped to photograph the magnificent cacti. It is completely deserted here. All the tourists stayed a couple of kilometers back, near Mirador del Balcon. No one makes it all the way here.

A dead-end road; it used to be the main one until the parallel autobahn was built.

Funny photo with a cactus :)

A whole cactus grove. We continue along the ocean, with mountains tirelessly accompanying us. The clouds are gathering.

The ocean is on the left, and mountains all around.

Another stop for a bathroom break. And a photo among the beautiful ears of grain.
Wolf had a work call, and we stopped at a roadside café. After the call, we drank “cappuccino” — coffee with condensed milk and whipped cream.
We arrived at our next and final accommodation on this trip. We’re going to stay here for 4 nights. The apartment is in a residential building on the second floor. In the town of Telde, it’s nice here. Wolf seems to have fallen ill. I went to the pharmacy for an electronic thermometer. The thermometer showed 36.9. It seemed to me that it was lying.
The apartment is cold. The bedroom windows face a light well — a hole in the center of the building. And the little balcony faces north, so there’s no direct sun here. I asked the host for a heater. It doesn’t help much, but it’s nice if you sit right next to it.

Bedroom and kitchen. Not very wolf-friendly...

There was a real typewriter in the apartment. We typed text on it.

I made a little rearrangement in this room, moved the sofa closer to the window, and it feels cozier this way. There’s a ceramic heater next to the sofa.
