Playa de Amadores - Barranco de las Vacas
Gran Canaria 2022
The day starts slowly. Volchiy still doesn’t feel very well, weak. But after lunch he suggests going somewhere. We decide to go first to the beach Playa de Amadores. It’s the same story here as in Tenerife — beautiful light sand brought from Africa.
I’m not a big fan of such beaches, but this one is quite nice. Thanks to the light sand, the water is a beautiful blue color. Too bad it was windy and cold, so I didn’t manage to swim… I put on my swimsuit a couple of times, but no, I couldn’t… We lay on the beach for more than an hour. We were lucky to arrive in the gap between the clouds and the rain; as soon as we were about to leave, it started to drizzle.

The trees near the beach look like giant mushrooms
By chance, I found information on the map about a small canyon, Barranco de las Vacas, and I really liked the photos of it. We went there. It turned out that there were several places with the same name on the map, and the one we chose was the wrong one. We wandered among the mountains, saw an abandoned mine, but there was nothing there that looked like the photos on the internet. When we got out of the mountains, another couple was coming toward us, and we warned them that this was the wrong spot and drove to another one.

We finally found that very place that was in the photo. It turned out to be one of those that are very photogenic, but in reality are not particularly interesting. We arrived in the evening, and the sun had already hidden behind the nearby mountains. They say it’s important for the sun to fall at the right angle, then the canyon walls take on a beautiful color.

Amazingly shaped rocks
