Todra Canyon
This is a popular place among climbers. We park the car here and go for a walk on foot.
The canyon is truly very beautiful. There are a lot of tourists here; they are brought in by busloads in large groups.
Tinghir - Dades
Morocco, 2018
In the morning we head to Todra Canyon. The road runs along the canyon floor beside the river. From the very beginning, it delights with the scenery outside the window, and after 15 km a truly breathtaking view begins, with the canyon walls soaring upward.

In the canyon
I have a strange feeling. It seems like there is such beauty all around, but for some reason there is no inner joy. Maybe it’s because of the number of people? Or perhaps because it’s a little unclear what to do here….

And also in the canyon
We walked back and forth. The road continues on, and we turn around and head toward another canyon — Dadès.
On the way, we stop in a small village to replenish our water supplies. But unexpectedly, we find a bakery with still-warm bread — traditional Moroccan flatbreads.
Our hotel is located by the road right in the canyon, beneath the mountain.
We sit down on the terrace. They bring us tea, and we drink tea with jam and bread.
The room is freezing cold. We sit fully dressed under two blankets.
