Peru 2023

Day 1: August 20

Düsseldorf - Lima

Peru 2023

Itinerary

On Saturday, August 19, we returned to Düsseldorf after our six-month “wandering” life in different houses.
We left the car in the underground parking garage and all our belongings in the basement.

It was strange to be left with just one small backpack.
Now these are all our belongings for the next three months…

Before heading to the airport hotel, we stopped by our favorite pizzeria, “Da Noi,” in Düsseldorf

We flew from Düsseldorf with a layover in Amsterdam. The flight from Amsterdam to Lima took 12 hours. I even enjoyed flying.

The cabin was dimly lit. From time to time, food was served, and it was actually quite tasty. Red wine was handed out in small bottles. At the back of the plane, I found a space where I could stand and do some exercises.

We arrived in Lima at four in the afternoon. A haze hung over the city. It was about 20 degrees Celsius.

We got from the airport to the city by Airport Express bus.

Near our house there was a small supermarket where we bought pasta, canned tuna, and tomatoes for dinner. And for breakfast, yogurt and mango.

In the supermarket. Amazing black corn.

The time difference between Lima and Düsseldorf is 7 hours. So by 7 p.m. I was terribly sleepy. Our first night on the new continent.
