Day 3: August 22

In Miraflores, I noticed a sanguchería — that’s what places are called where they serve Peruvian sandwiches, like the ones we ate yesterday.

In this sanguchería, most of the visitors were tourists. We ordered 2 different sandwiches, chicharrón, and another one.

We also ordered chicha, a traditional Peruvian drink.

Something like a compote made from black corn with spices added.

In both color and taste, it very much resembles sweet non-alcoholic mulled wine with a popcorn smell. Overall, quite tasty.

The chicharrón here was worse than yesterday’s. So much for a nice tourist café.
But still, satisfied and full, we went to close the contract for the SIM card we bought yesterday.

This time they let us into the store.

We waited and waited for something, and finally they gave us a receipt with our number and called us to one of the windows.

We closed the contract; they didn’t even want any money.

Serzhyk thought we would have to pay for 3 months.

After that, we went to another mobile operator, where (Serzhyk had read) you can just buy a regular SIM card.

First we waited in line just to get into the store. Then we waited a long time for our turn.

In the end, we paid 300 UAH and were given a SIM card for a month with 10 gigabytes of internet.

We walked a little more in the park with beautiful views of the ocean.

We found a bus stop and went home.

After returning home, we went up to the 21st floor of our building.

There is a small pool here, and it offers a view of the city.

For dinner we have avocado (very tasty!) and pasta with tuna.
