Day 9, January 27

At night I was cold without a blanket; there was only a sheet in the room to cover myself with. Some birds started singing early in the morning, even louder than roosters. In the morning I felt strange, with aches all over my body. We went swimming. Drank coffee. I took my temperature — 37.5. Maybe I did catch a chill on the moped after all? It’s strange, in Vietnam we were really cold on the moped too and everything was fine. I guess my body just can’t get used to the new surroundings yet.
We sent Volchy to the store. He bought ginger and lemon and bananas and mango and cookies.
I sat on the veranda all day, drinking tea. After a paracetamol tablet, I felt better. It’s nice here, quiet. I saw two black squirrels.
