Wolf at the gas station with our new moped friend
Our route led us to a small village not far from the popular Ao Nang area. In Ao Nang, the accommodation is either terrible or expensive, so we decided to stay here and ride to Ao Nang on a moped.

In the morning we checked out of the hotel and rented a moped (most places ask for a passport as a deposit for the moped, and we were afraid to leave our passport. We were lucky and managed to slip them a laminated copy of the passport instead of the original, which Volchiy had made on our previous trip). So we became the owners of a great moped.

On the way to Ao Nang.

Our hotel turned out to be nice, with a balcony, air conditioning, and a refrigerator. However, we were asked to go for a walk for an hour while they cleaned the room, and we went to Tesco supermarket. In the supermarket, Volchiy found a 500 baht bill on the floor, which is as much as 340 hryvnias — we decided that the supermarket was congratulating Volchiy on his birthday. On the way to the hotel, we saw a market and bought mangoes and bananas.
We decided to eat at the café opposite our hotel, ordered a sure-win option — pad thai — and it turned out to be delicious.
We wanted to sleep again, decided to take a little nap, and slept until evening again, we just can’t get into the rhythm….
In the evening, I persuaded Volchiy to go to Ao Nang to celebrate his birthday. Prices in the restaurants there are sky-high for Thailand. We found a rather nice restaurant, ordered two portions of rice and chicken gravy — green curry.

The rice was served in the shape of a heart :) It turned out beautiful and delicious.

We also drank local beer. Beer here is expensive and not tasty, but it is cold.

Then we went for a walk along the embankment. We saw the ocean at night. Life here is in full swing.

Listening to music

We sat down to listen to an American playing guitar and singing in one of the bars. Apparently that’s how they lure tourists in — with live European-American music. Because later we saw a couple more such bars with singers of European appearance. In one of them they even sang one of my favorite AC/DC songs. And in another bar they were singing a Nirvana song, but there were pushy waiters there and they didn’t let us stand and listen.
I also tried on a pretty dress; too bad they only make it in one size, and it was too big for me.
We got back home at half past midnight. Volchiy sat down to play around with the TV, and I suggested watching a movie on it through the camera. It worked out so well. The TV in our room is big, and we watched the film “The English Patient.” We went to bed at 5 a.m. We’re slipping back into the same rhythm as in Kyiv again…
