Chile 2023

Day 14: October 15

Puerto Ibáñez - Villa Cerro Castillo

Chile 2023

Itinerary

According to the plan, today we wanted to go hiking in the mountains.
But yesterday we chatted a bit with the other guests at our hotel, a couple from Germany.

They said they also wanted to go on this hike, but they are not allowing people there yet.
The trail into the mountains is closed because of the large amount of snow.

So we just had a day of relaxation and rest.

We went for a drive around the area.
First, we went to the town of Puerto Ibanez.
There was nothing special there, we just wandered around a bit and then went on....

Then we turned onto a gravel road.

Serzhyk saw a thing that local residents use to cross the river.
Unfortunately, it was "locked" with a padlock (against people like us :)

I somehow felt like driving a car on this road.
It was cool to drive off-road.

We arrived at the lake with an incredible view of the mountains

On the way back, we passed through the village of Villa Cerro Castillo and withdrew money there from an ATM.
