Chile 2023

Day 25: October 26

Puerto Natales - Punta Arenas

Chile 2023

Itinerary

It rained all night, and the temperature drops to zero at night.

In the morning, the mountains were covered with fresh white snow.

We checked out of the cabin and are heading to Torres del Paine National Park.

The house is located on the outskirts of Puerto Natales. It reminded me a little of Ukrainian summer cottages. An unpaved road from the house and snow-covered mountains on the horizon.

Our little car. The weather keeps changing all the time. Sometimes it’s sunny, sometimes it’s cloudy.

We drove 60 km deep into the park, to the barrier and the visitor center.
Entry to the park is paid, $25 per person. We just wanted to drive through the park road...

We thought that paying $50 for 50 km of road was somehow not serious.

We had to turn around and drive back; our idea of making a "loop" around the park didn’t work out.

Well, so be it.

We’re heading to Punta Arenas, a city on the shore of the Strait of Magellan.

Serzhyk said that we are photographing only the scenery, and there are no “real” photos.

It became sunny again. We stopped to take “real” photos — farms and sheep.

In Punta Arenas, we live in a five-story building. It felt so unusual to live in a multi-story building after having lived in small huts all this time.

The apartment is small. Heating is only in the kitchen — a gas “stove” in the center of the kitchen against the wall.
